Monthly Letter from the Parish Council President
Every month our Parish Council President informs the community of St. Elijah with what is going on during the months. This year our Parish Council President is Trey Kouri. Below is the monthly letter mailed to the parishoners of St. Elijah.
July 1, 2010 Dear St. Elijah Parishioners: First and foremost I want to thank the entire St. Elijah parish for the overwhelming support of last week's Parish Life Conference. The committees under the leadership of Jeff Massad and Mona Spivey did an outstanding job. Registration topped out at 604 people, which was a record number for Oklahoma City. If you were unable to attend, you really missed out on a wonderful spiritual and social event. I would also like to compliment our Clergy and Staff for proving to the entire region why St. Elijah is the Spiritual Center of the Diocese. We have a couple of upcoming events that everyone needs to be watching for. First, St. Elijah Feast Day will be on July 18, 2010. There will be food, fun, fellowship and even another talent show. Also, please watch the bulletin and your emails for the scheduling of a CPR Certification class. Dr. Gary Rahill has diligently worked to set up a class for all of us. Along with the CPR training, we will also be educated on the proper use of the recently installed Defibrillators. Now, an update on the current status of our facility. First, we had significant damage to our facility. Southwest Roofing and Hardesty Team are working diligently with Deacon Ezra and our Insurance Company to get our facility repaired. We are in the bidding process to have handicap entrance doors installed. Lastly, we are in the process of installing sound reverberation insulation in the gym. These improvements or repairs are either within budgeted funds or insurance proceeds. Dr. Raymond reported that the income for June was much better than previous months. I appreciate the parish's response to our recent stewardship appeals. Please continue to be diligent with your financial commitment. As always, I or any other board member are available to discuss any issues you would like to have addressed by the board. Please feel free to contact me or any of the board members with any questions or concerns. Yours in Christ, H. Trey Kouri, III Parish Council Chairman |
