Monthly Letter from the Parish Council President

Every month our Parish Council President informs the community of St. Elijah with what is going on during the months. This year our Parish Council President is Trey Kouri. Below is the monthly letter mailed to the parishoners of St. Elijah.

July 28, 2010

Dear St. Elijah Parishioners:

First and foremost I want to thank Ned and Stacy Shadid and Richard Moorad for putting together an outstanding Luncheon for the St. Elijah Feast day. They donated the food, worked to prepare it, and then with the help of the Parish Council members, they served it. The luncheon along with the talent show was outstanding. I was not present for the event, since I had the good fortune of celebrating my Sittie Florence's 97th birthday. My family was blessed to celebrate, but I would be remiss in not recognizing the loss of Aunt Sally Saied. Aunt Sally was only two weeks shy of celebrating her 100th birthday, May Her Memory Be Eternal!

I want to thank our Vice-Chairman, Dr. Gary Rahill for running our July meeting. The agenda was fairly light. We are continuing to work of facility repairs from the storm damage. We are in the process to adding the handicap entrance doors and we completed the installation of the sound reverberation insulation in the gym.

Dr. Raymond reported that the income for July was not as good as we had hoped. Please continue to be diligent with your financial commitment.

Fr. Constantine and Sharon, while in Palestine, have kept in contact with the church. All is well there. Fr. Jeremy will be going to Australia August 29th through September 8th to officiate at a wedding. Keep them all in your prayers.

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 3rd. There will be a Bake Sale meeting at 5:30pm for all members who would like to help with this year's Bake Sale. Immediately following the meeting, at 6:30pm the CPR Certification Class will be held. Dr. Gary managed to get a reduced fee of $25 per person for this certification. Lastly, please mark your calendar for the weekend of September 18th-19th. This is the weekend we will be celebrating our 90th Anniversary with Bishop BASIL. We are planning a special weekend that will include a Saturday night Hafli and a Sunday evening Banquet.
